RCRG Vs LRR

May 19th, 2010

We had an amazing weekend in London! We didn’t win, the score was 88 to us and 105 to London Rocking Rollers! So well done LRR but we were very pleased with the close score as we are a less experienced league. Also last time we played them at Roll Britannia they totally wiped us out! We had a great time at the after party too, it was so much fun! Big thanks to Libby for letting 6 of us crash and thanks to Steff from LRG for Bench managing us and to all who came down and helped out or cheered us on! Love you all! Derby Girls Ahoy

March 15th, 2010

piecesofhate1

The Rainy City Roller Girls are out for blood on the 17th of April at the Castle Leisure Centre Bury. Ever since the last bottle of Sailor Jerry vanished in mysterious circumstances it was only going to be a matter of time before the factions decided to do battle.
The Jolly Dodgers captained by R.E.D will take on Blackbeard’s Bruisers lead by Cat Outta Hell in a pitched battle to finally answer the question “where has all the rum gone?”.

The Jolly Dodgers have opted to skate in White while the Bruisers have aptly enough plumped for purple. The girls are hoping to match the sucess of last years Storm in A D-Cup intra league which saw the Storm Sirens close victory over The Queens Of Hail. Infact many old girls from that bout return including last years Storm Sirens captain Biertrix.

As of last night the stakes have been raised, The Dodgers roped in some Liverpool Roller Birds to join the fray, the Bruisers of course responded with “ha! We see your Roller Birds and Raise you two Wakey WheeledCats” So naturally both teams have two Birds and two Cats……………so many jokes we could make here but we won’t.

Many of the girls involved will be bouting for the first time so grab your pom poms and support your team.

We’re really excited about our new travel team name… ‘Manchester Motley Crew’

… and we’d like to say an enormous “Thank You!” to Neil from ‘Tufuga Zoo Custom Tattoo’ in Widness for designing our awesome logo. Merch to follow…

Congratulations to all the skaters from both teams for a fantastic performance yesterday. Also a massive thanks to the bench managers, refs, NSOs, merch stall staff and some superb cheering in the crowd. It all added to a great day!
