Kicking off at the Castle Centre Bury, home of many of RCRG’s Home bouts this one looked to be a brutal match up and it didn’t disappoint.
The first line up set the tone for the bout with The Motley Crew coming out fighting with (unusually) Feral Fairy pivoting, and taking the lead when Stuttgard failed to score. Both teams have a reputation for hard hitting and they did not let us down, bone crunching collisions and power jams became the hallmarks of the day. The Motley Crew’s aggressive pack play and general tactical sneakiness gave them a good lead and despite fantastic Jams by Stuttgart’s Vegas and Polly Purgatory they struggled to close the gap. Stuttgart kept the penalty trackers busy (mostly for back blocking) and gifted the Motleys a series of power jams which Missy Rascal and Lady Go-Go in particular took full advantage of.
The second half rang the changes with Rainy City switching to a defensive game plan which gave wrecking-ball blockers Sinthia Pain, R.E.D and Morgue-Anna the chance to do what they do best and knock girls all over the track. Some cracking takeouts orchestrated by both teams followed with double and even triple take downs leaving jammers jumping sprawled blockers in their path. The penalty trackers got no let up as fatigue, frustration and the big hitters dominating the track meant the penalty box seats were never cold….on either side.
Final score: RCRG 131 SVRG 77
